The planned highway will be 73 kilometers long, starting from Timișoara and extending to the area bordering Serbia. Nine bids have already been received for the first phase of construction, from construction companies in Romania, Italy, Turkey, Bulgaria, and Ukraine. A bridge will be built over the Timiș River on this section of the route. The first junction will be at Remetea Mare, where it will be possible to connect from the A1 highway to the national road 6. There will be three more junctions in the southern part of Timișoara, at Albina, and on the national road 59 in the Pădureni area. Alin Şerbănescu, a representative of the National Road Company: "Currently, two sections have been announced for bidding. We estimate that the evaluation process will take about four months, if there are no appeals. So, we could sign a contract sometime by the end of summer or early autumn."

The project's funding is provided by EU funds and the state budget, with a total cost of 15 billion lei, which is approximately 3 billion euros. Irinel Ionel Scriosteanu, State Secretary from the Ministry of Transport: "The plans are to have it completed and operational by 2028." Ionuţ Ciurea, a representative of the Pro Infrastructure Association: "This is not a priority. Especially when considering many other areas where traffic is heavier and more important corridors are located in the country. Brașov is not connected to the capital, nor to the west, we have many problems to solve." At the end of last year, Romania had a total of 1,275 kilometers of highway and express road network.
